Another milestone in the history of DaN Basel \u2013 official recognition by the UN as a member NGO with official special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council \u2013 ECOSOC.<\/p>\n
Thanks to our long-standing commitment in areas consistent with the UN's SDGs, \u2018Zero Hunger\u2019, \u2018No Poverty\u2019, \u2018Reduced Inequalities\u2019 and \u2018Responsible Consumption and Production\u2019, our experience with refugees and our efforts in intercultural mediation, we have been honoured with ECOSOC status and can now contribute our experience to the important meetings of the Economic and Social Council.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
In addition, we are able to organise our own meetings and speak about the taboo subject of \u2018poverty even in rich countries\u2019, such as Switzerland, and thereby raise awareness of it.<\/p>\n
We hope that this will give us even better opportunities to improve the living conditions of the people affected.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
